State House Advocacy

What We Do

State House Advocacy empowers Maine conservatives to make their voices heard where it matters most—directly in Augusta. Activists can contact their State Representative or State Senator by phone or email to urge them to vote for or against important legislation, ensuring lawmakers hear directly from the people they represent. Volunteers can also participate in the legislative process by submitting written testimony via email or, if they choose, by traveling to the State House to speak before committees in person. Maine Civic Action provides thorough training on every part of the process—how to communicate effectively with legislators, how to craft persuasive written testimony, and how to deliver impactful in-person remarks. When Mainers show up—in inboxes, on phone lines, or in committee rooms—the government must listen.
